Cantes de levante (or tres escenas y un epílogo) (2026)
Cantes de levante (o tres escenas y un epílogo) is a project that explores how sound and music can acquire a physical presence on stage. It arises from the need to move beyond the label of “composer” and to expand the boundaries of flamenco as an artistic identity, seeking a space of creative freedom where sound can engage in dialogue with the body and the space.
The proposal stands at the intersection between concert and performative experience, structured in three independent acts in which experimentation with flamenco palos from the Región de Murcia becomes the guiding thread. The project investigates how to organically integrate the intangible nature of sound with the concreteness of the physical, questioning what it means for a musical creator to confront their own work on stage, and what tensions emerge when moving from the solitude of composition to the collectivity of an audience. Within this framework, it proposes a process of experimentation open to error, risk, and the constant redefinition of its own boundaries.
This project was presented in Murcia during the festival Mu-tantes, with the collaboration of Derek Van Den Bulcke, Álvaro Romero and Dremat.
