For James Oesi  was a piece commissioned by Gaudeamus Muziekweek, Grachtenfestival and November Music. This work is part of the pieces dedicated to Crespo Barba’s flamenco voice research, being the double bass the responsible to execute this a capela song, directly related with saetas and tonás.

For James Oesi was premiered on August 15th, 2019 at Zuid-Afrika Huis (Amsterdam) during Grachtenfestival, and performed by James Oesi. The revised version was performed for the first time on February 24th, 2024 at Musis (Arnhem) during the Andriessen Festival.
